Last month we worked on spine, hip and shoulder mobility, as well as upper body strength. This month our focus is single sided movements. Marnie is our lovely fitness model for the August Five – Tree pose, Bicep Curl, Overhead press, Cossack Squat and Single Leg Hamstring Curl.
These photos are meant to jog your memory about the exercises we have done together. Please use your best judgement as to how suitable these are for you, and as always if you’d like to learn how to execute these moves safely, come to class or see me for a one on one session.
We have combined the Tree/ Bicep Curl/ OHP (holding this pose builds strength and endurance in your standing leg). While I’m “counting” these as three different exercises, I suggest you try to do 10 – 15 reps of each while standing on one leg, then switch legs and do Tree/ Curl/ OHP on the other side.
